Main titles and graphics for documentary film by Brooklyn based documentary film company PF Pictures.
Still frames from the title sequence in the opening act of the film.
Working with a cut edited by PF Pictures, I was asked to complete it into a full opening title sequence. On top of typographical layouts with a fairly minimal use of graphic elements and animation I graded and treated the footage with various subtle textures and graphic overlays to enhance the themes of the film; politics, conflicts, national and international security etc.
The main topic of the film is the constantly rising problem of how climate change affects and catalyzes conflicts around the world. Through drought, sea level rise and other factors, more and more situations are being created that force mass migration. This creates huge refugee movements leading to the current situation in Europe, and various terror organizations using the opportunity to rise to power and territorial domination. The film is not trying to say climate change is main reason for the current state of the mentioned reason, but has for a long time been an underlying one, many times strengthening already existing tensions.
